Let the Letters Fly! Year 7 & 8 Shine at Annual Spelling Bee

The school auditorium was filled with excitement as students and teachers gathered for the third annual spelling bee contest. Participants from years 7 and 8 were faced with a challenging task that tested their spelling ability and nerves under pressure.

The competition was opened by the friendly hosts, Mrs Träger and Mrs Kostede, who welcomed everyone to the event. The audience contributed greatly to the atmosphere by holding up colourful and creative posters in support of their classmates. These decorations transformed the auditorium into a vibrant, encouraging space.

A particular highlight was the entertaining teacher-versus-students round, in which Mr Sternitzke bravely took on the challenge, but was ultimately defeated by the students, much to the amusement of the audience.

As the contest progressed, the words became more challenging and the tension increased. Ultimately, Moritz (8c) claimed first place with an exceptional performance. Second place was awarded to Klara (7b), who impressed everyone with her focus and determination.

The English Department would like to congratulate all the contestants on their efforts and courage, and thank the audience for their enthusiastic support. We are already looking forward to the next Spelling Bee!
